The final weekend of September 2013 was something pretty special.
For many months now, my friend Digitalanthill and I had discussed filming an edit showing the process of me creating one of my paintings. His edits are works that I really enjoy watching and was excited to see what we could do together. We finally decided that I would head down to Nottingham and create a piece but the question remained, where?
Thanks to the guys at the Montana Shop in Nottingham, we where directed to Switch Studios who allowed me to use their billboard at their studios as my canvas following some emails.
The project was on and so were the preparations.
The billboard is 11ft x 20ft and this is one of the biggest paintings I have done to date and would require a good mass of hand cut stencils for this bad boy to create something that would stand out. 10 days, 125 stencils and copious numbers of scalpel blades and cans of RedBull later, I was ready to make the 303 mile trip down to Nottingham. And so the fun began.
Digitalanthill has done a fantastic job creating this edit of the process of creation for this piece and the weather complimented an amazing weekend. I must thank Mr Alex Fowkes for all his help as well.
