Well another year passes so rapidly, and what a fun year it has been.
This year has seen me become involved in some fantastic projects such as the Memories project. A book that will feature a huge amount of artists illustrating the stories of people who have been affected both directly and indirectly with cancer. This is something I am so honored to have been invited to contribute and look forward with great excitement for the up and coming year to see everything come together.
From this I was invited to be become a featured artist for Subism, a multi-faceted creative business representing artists and creatives around the globe. Subism also produces it’s own range of ink, Sub Ink.
I continued through 2010 to submit my paintings for open exhibitions in both Scotland and England with the intension of continuing to do so in 2011. One thing that has been the most exciting during 2010 was the alteration in my work. I continue to cut highly detailed stencils but during the month of July I took time off to step back and had a break coming back fired up with fresh ideas for a style of work that will take me to the next chapter in my career. I combine the detail of my stencil work with brush work, splatters of paint and dripping inks. I have had so much fun in my studio over the past year and towards the end have had an absolute blast making a mess.
2010 was also the year when I produced my first ever run of Limited Edition Prints. I had always said to myself that if I were to create a run of prints the image would be specifically for that purpose, as all my paintings are and continue to be one off originals. Not only did my first ever Limited edition print become available but I now have “The Dripping Bear” available as an open edition print.
Other exciting shows to be a part of in 2010 were Floodit hosted in Nottingham by my friends at Waste Studio  in the Nottingham Contemporary. As well as that Subism had an exhibition called “Curating Spaces” held at the RedBull Studio in London. Subism has a fantastic line up of artists that I am so happy to be a part of and can’t wait for future opportunities to exhibit/paint with everyone again.
So with 2011 now upon us I will now begin to work on new paintings, maybe some new prints. Who knows really. I am taking each day as it comes. Some things have been discussed for the year but I can’t say too much at this time, but you know I’ll let you know as and when they come to light.
As I ended 2009 with a photo of my late dog I thought I’d start the new year with a photo of my new gorgeous pooch, Eva.
I wish you a happy and successful 2011 and look forward to sharing it with you.
