Where has a decade gone? It seems to have gone so fast.
2009 was an interesting year, I couldn’t think of a photo to some up my year apart from this one of my late dog whom sadly passed. I had a wonderful 14 years with Tyson.
I have learnt a lot in the past decade, I can’t believe that I graduated from Art College only 5 years ago, so much seems to have happened since then and I have experienced a lot and met some amazing people on the way.
The last year was interesting to say the least. 2009 allowed me to have work accepted into some more traditional fine art galleries and now my work is represented by the James Walter Gallery in Glasgow. They have been enthusiastic about my work since I first introduced myself and I thank them for the support they continue to offer.
2009 was busy exhibition wise from the first Xynthetic show in Scotland to myself and my good friend SMUG displaying our work down in Truro. I was also fortunate wnough to have a solo show at the West End Gallery in Glasgow which was proved to be an amazing opportunity for visitors to witness my work for the fist time and the feed back was amazing.
As well as producing new paintings through out the year I produced a range of apparel featuring “The Bear” which is available via my online store.
Not only has 2009 brought some success it also saw a kink in the rails in the form of some of my paintings being stolen alongside works by Peter Howson, James MacDonald and a signed Picasso print to name a few. The work had been taken as a bulling tactic by an associate of the landlord of the West End Gallery space who was later charged when the collection of paintings where found at his home, which he still denies taking even though he was clearly busted. Thankfully my paintings and all the other artists works were returned with no damage.
Well that is the end of another year and a decade. I am looking forward to 2010 and what it may have install for me. I am proud to be asked to be a part of the launch of my good friend Gavin Strange’s latest vinyl toy, The Droplet. I will be customising a blank toy for the official launch at The Fifty-Fifty Store in Bristol.
I am currently working on some commissioned work and from there will be focusing on creating new paintings developing my combination of detailed stencil works and free hand touches. I am excited about the new year and of course will continue to update all my interweb branches as I go along to share with you good people.
All the Best for 2010.
